Is it possible to download a standalone copy of IE 6.0 and upgrade to a non internet pc ?

Yup, that's what I did. Download the 497KB setup file Here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/ie6/default.asp?FinishURL=%2Fdownloads%2Frelease%2Easp %3Freleaseid%3D32210%26redirect%3Dno) then run it to download the IE6 version for your OS. I downloaded all 98/ME/2K-XP versions because we are running different OS'es on different machine.

The CDs coming with the PC magazines (like Chip, PC Magazine, PC World) are another solution. Try to find a version of IE 6 at a friend, school, in a collection of these CDs.
