View Full Version : What is the gap for the v4 ps2? How can u tell if you have it or not?

I have a v4 and I want to either install the magic chip or the messiah in it but i need to know about this "gap" because I have no clue. Thx

look at the bios. if the legs are in a continous line, its non gapped. if theres a space in the middle (it'll look like it has 4 "groups" of legs) then its gapped

i recently learned about this..

if you have a version 4 1a or 1b the odd are your ps2 is fine with the messiah pal chip that requires ps2 v4 with gap bios..

i have no idea whats the gap thing but people say you must open the ps2

Does any sites show these distinctions cause I would need to see these close up in order for me to really know.

yea i was wondering this too. i got the v4 gran turismo3 package so if any got the same package it should be the same right? if anyone knows please reply. thanks.

If you have V4 datacode 1a or 1b you need a messiah pal or magic2 v4 chip... if you have V4 datacode 1c you need a magic2 v5 or apple usv5...
