Does it play original games still? What kind of media are you using?

another good question too, what version is it? my friend's does the same thing, it plays originals, but dvdrom types. it's a version 1, and to my opinion, it's overused, but I maybe wrong.

Well it was working fine the system itself has only had a total of probably 50 hrs or so of playtime. I don't even us eit that much. I mainly use it to try out the games i have downloaded and that is it. I fig'd I'd have time to try them after i got them all hehe.

As for the questions asked. Yes it still plays original being that i have 4 originals, and it still plays dvds fine with no probs it just wont read ps1 or ps2 backups anymore. Now for a system that has been rarely used whaat can it be?

You left out a lot of information:
what usb port are you using, top or bottom?
is the usb mod (this is just an sbox or neokey, same thing) on?
what is your boot method?
what version GS are you using?
what version ps2 are you using?
what game are you using for backup?
are your game disks clean?
did you try reading the mod chip forum?
