If i buy a usb headset that is not the same as the socom one, will it work? They sell them for in a lot of websites. Anyone use them?

I can't see how a regular headset would work. I took the black box module thats in between the headphones and the usb plug that came with the game and theres alot of stuff in there. Theres components on both sides of the circuit board and has a crystal and 3 IC's in it along with several diodes, caps and resistors.

what do you consider cheap usb headset, the cheapest seen so far is $25 and that is for the Socom one.....

I would just buy the socom one.....it is only $25.....doubt you'll find one cheaper than that.

Or buy a different USB headset and let us all know the results.......

i heard that the original socom one works in the pc also, and that it said logitec when the dude installed it on his pc...

I have a Plantronics DSP-500 USB headset,
$109.00US, so it's not cheap.
And it doesn't work with SOCOM.
So strike that one off your list of potential replacements.:bang:
