I am trying to back up AOE 2 and Someone said in another thread to leave the session open in case you need a patch. A couple of questions:

1) How do I leave the session open. Figured this out
2) Am I suppose to pick the Game session icon or do I pick the ClonyxxL one? Figured this out
3) When I use the ClonyxxL, it mentioned ASPI or something, can someone explain. Is this a software thing or a hardware thing?Still having trouble with this when I load Clony, I installed V.4.6 because 4.7 supposively casues problems. But when I load ClonmyxxL it still has ASPI errors

4) And the funny part, I backed up this expansion before and it works, but now I can't do it again. I think it may have been an older version of nero. I have Clony version 4.0.1.10 and Nero 5.5.5.6 bundled. I have made about 5 coasters and counting and can't take it anymore.

Pleas help me out and if you don't have the answers to all, can you please answer what you know.

Peace:D

If you are cloning it then you are trying to create a 1:1 copy in which case you would want to close it not leave it open.

I thought that was only protected with SD1?? Anyway you don't need to read the subchannels and I would read+write much faster than 4x.

I read the 4x thing from another AOE 2 thread and it said to include the subchannels. Also should I burn on the fly, I tried this twice and both times, the CD got stuck at 98% and kept trying to burn for over 40 minutes I waited. Is this normal, that it takes this long.

The speed of reading a SD CD depends on the drive.. It takes me 2-3mins. It should not get stuck at the end, SD uses unreabable sectors only at the start of the disc.

As I understand it it is just protected with SD, in which case you definatly don't need to read the subchannel data.

It getting stuck towards the end suggests that the disc is damaged.. are getting read errors in the log?? It also sounds like you are burning on the fly. I would suggest that you don't.

I beleive I was doing burn on the fly. Celtic, you are the man. I am going to try to burn it again. What's weird is that I could have sworn I burned it and I tried to look at the disc and their was nothing on it. I know I copied it and it said reading then writing. I make an image and then it burns the image. But two times, I did this and the cd never copied. I then used the discs to make music. But then two of the other times, it burnt and it didn't even work.

I will try it again using clone cd with the clonyXXl settings.
