View Full Version : I cant delete the files on my rewritable CD HELP ME!

Bad news for me...

I have just bought a CDRW, and now that i have put something onto it.. i cant erase it and put new things on it...

the CD is from TDK, 700 MB and 80 min.
This may seem as a small problem to some of you... But help me instead of laughing of me :D

I don't know which burning program you are using, but it will have the ability to erase the data from your CD-RW. Just load the CD-RW into you burner, open your writer program, and look at the menus. You will find an entry Erase CD-RW, you also get the option for quick erase, which takes around two mins, or full erase, which will take considerably longer.

I would recommend the above mentioned full erase.

The quick erase just removes the directory entry and leaves the data alone.

Some programs when writing to a CDRW with this can throw an error message such as "Deleted Block Detected".

Only snag is that you have to re-format.
