Will it boot a cd game?

I had same problem and it was my dvd laser gone pear shaped.
Most orginal games are on dvdrom but some are on cdrom.

I was trying to boot loads of orginal games like mgs2, gta etc and dvd movies but none would work.

I went to blockbuster and rented a cdrom game (star wars jedi starfighter)
and it booted fine.

Bought a new laser and fitted it and all back to normal.

Don't know why your controller dont work though.

cheers

Your circles are all together as one blob because your Date/Time isn't set-up.

If you set your Date/Time they'll split up like normal! Maybe your battery has died and your PS2 lost the settings..

Not much idea on the broken one though, sounds knacked! Are they both the same version?? If they are you could always try your GOOD dvd-drive in the one thats knacked.. Not sure about your controllers stopping working though!
