IF YOUR CD WRITER WONT RECOGNISE THE FILES ON THE CD YOUR UP THE CREEK WITHOUT A PADDLE.IF ON THE OTHER HAND YOUR CD WRITER DOES RECOGNISE THESE FILES ON THE CD YOU COULD TRY RIPPING THEM TO YOUR HARD DRIVE AND START AGAIN.BY THE WAY WHAT SOFTWARE DID YOU BURN THE CDS WITH AND ALSO WHAT DID YOU TRY TO BURN THEM AS,VCDS etc.

I used Nero Burning Rom. And how would you suggest to rip them from the cd?

what sort of files are on your cds , if your cd writer lets you read them that is.and also did you try to burn these files as a vcd.

There are videos (MPG and M2V) and not burned as a vcd. My burning program sees them, but nothing else does.

I've had similar problems with a Philips 161040K CDRW,Nero 5599 and 32 speed disks (Win 2K). The way I get around the problem is to use iso buster or arrowkey CD diagnostic to read the disks.

I start in safe mode, to bypass W2Ks drivers, load isobuster, then insert CD into CDRW drive and it works.

To finalise the disk leave isobuster running and finalise the disk using Nero.

Yup, ISOBuster (http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/) or CDRDiagnostic (http://www.cdrom-prod.com/) may help.
