Need some help....I am trying to add more data to a DirectCD cd...and get the following Errow Message.."Reserve Device" "Device is reserved by other process" (0x8000001a)" "You will not be able to read or write to the disc through dive letter access".
What does all this mean and how do I get around it??
I am using Plextor 12/10/32 with Easy cd Creator 4 deluxe.
Thanks Pat

I suppose you are trying to add data via windows explorer and not EZCD4?

I'm not familiar with that particular error message, but I found packet writing software like Direct CD and InCD to be very finicky and trouble prone. I had several CDRWs work fine for a few weeks and then all of a sudden be unreadable, unwriteable or both.
I'm not sure packet writing software is very robust or reliable. I would only use it to transfer files from one computer to another and then only as a last resort.

Thanks for the responses.....Is there another program you would recomment besides "Adaptec" that I can use to backup data and add to the CD when needed?

Well you can add to the data & backup using EZCD4. DirectCD, however, allows you to use the CDRW much like a HDD but is inherently less reliable - so don't use it for critical data, use EZCD4 instead. I believe that DirectCD5 is a more stable product & also doesn't conflict with other burn proggies such as Nero. From what I've read it's also better then INCD.

DirectCD 5 is better. I have tried it with some CDRW and works fine. But I've tried to install it under Win XP and it doesn't work...
