I just ripped a DVD but certain parts of the story are in Japanese and I can't understand it. I am using WinDVD 4. How do I activate subtitles during these parts?

You just right click and select them. That is assuming that it has subtitles and that you ripped them. Also when you say your ripped it, do you mean the entire disc?? Because if you just play the VOB, you probably can't select subtitles.

Yeah, I ripped every file off of the disc. What am I suppose to click on?

Just select "play DVD from folder and then you should be able to select subs same as on a real DVD.

Hi, I used smartripper and I selected "All Files". I then opened up WinDVD 4 and clicked on "Play DVD from folder" like you said but when I select the folder with all of the files in it, it tells me "The selected folder does not have valid DVD content". Am I doing something wrong?

right click on the actual video screen as the movie is playing to select the subs. If the option isn't there, neither are the subs.

Thanks for all the help. I finally figured it out. The files are suppose to be put in a folder named "video_ts" otherwise it doesn't seem to work.
