Lets face it, I need help. (not like that though ;) )
I want to convert divx films back to the dvd format so I can burn them onto DVD, like you would a mp3 onto CD.
I have dvd decryptor and dvd2mpg but none of them will accept a divx film only a dvd.
Does anyone know of a walk through to do this or has anyone done this themselves?
Thanks
Rob

Use something like TMPGEnc or CCE to convert the AVI to DVD complient MPG.. Assuming you are talking about an AVI.

I have both TMPGEnc and CCE but they seem to only want a dvd as input?
I will try Ulead Videostudio. Thanks mmace

That is really strange because both TMPGEnc and CCE are designed to take AVI's as input and CCE won't accept a DVD as input also only newer versions of TMPGEnc will accept MPEG2 files as input, for older versions you had to frameserve.

I will try them again!
Hopefuly I should get this to work, leaving me with the only problem I have left, ripping dvd's of episodes rather than films :)
CCE wants some .ecl and when I try and open a divx film it says its not suported. CCE is cinema craft encoder yeah? v2.5

For CCE you may want to write an AVISynth script to do the resizing, etc.
Also you are supposed to add the AVI not open it, the ecl file is kinda like a project file I guess for loading settings.
Just right click and select add or just drop the file onto the program.

I tryed that but I then get a stream read failed error, bad parameters twice and nothing happens ?

I used Ulead Videostudio and think I got it to start encoding. Was taking ages though looked like it would have taken about 4-5 hours. Does that seem normal? Guess so. Ill have to leave it overnight :D
Still not sure what the problem with CCE was. Would be cool to find out as it seems to be an easer program to use and better quality.
Thanks though
Rob
When its encoded do I just burn it?

I got it all to work using videostudio 6.
however when I watched the film it was fine up untill a little over half way when the sound messed up and was coming from about 5 mins before. I tryed pausing it and everything but it must be a problem with the encoding. Was it perhaps something to do with the encoding?
