Right first - thanx for readin. Now - I got an avi file thatplays fine thro any media players - so the file is ok . Tmpeg will not open it - says not supported , nero5.0 starts to encode video ( takes ages! ) gets to 12% and freezes . I am dl'ing easycd5.0 , to see if that works but its gonna take all night to dl . Any ideas or experiences? I have done lots of smaller files but this one is 157mb , have tried avi - vcd but it says it has compressed audio - SOOOOO is there a way of splitting the streams and putting them back together or am I missing an obvious solution ( fingers crossed ! )
Thanx in advance.....

You should be able to save out the audio using either virtual dub or nandub.

Do you know what audio and video codecs are used in the movie?? Do you have divx 311alpha and divx4.xx installed??
