Sinn Feb 01, 2002, 03:19 PM I have the liteon 24x and I am using nero 5.5
When I start to copy Ghost Recon it ejects the black CD-R and says insert media...
When I check to see how big Ghost Recon is it says its like 655mb and Im using 700mb discs.
If any one knows how to copy it please let me know, thanks...
Brandono Feb 01, 2002, 07:48 PM Maybe try a different CDr. Or different program like CloneCD.

celtic_druid Feb 01, 2002, 09:38 PM Ghost recon is protected with SafeDisc2. You already have a burner capable of making SD2 coies, so as said why not use a program which is also capable of SD2 copies, such as Clone CD, Blind Write, CD Mate, etc.
Otherwise you are going to have to use a crack.
Sinn Feb 03, 2002, 12:24 PM Ok I tried using CloneCD, when I start to copy the cd it is filling buffers and stuff, then it starts to write session 1 image file, it stayed at 5% for like an hour, so I just shut my comp down, how do you copy Ghost Recon?
Sinn Feb 03, 2002, 07:50 PM Bump :D
RegalRider Feb 03, 2002, 08:01 PM I've heard that SafeDisc 2 games take forever to read also check to see if your using the correct settings to burn a SafeDisc2 game!

Sinn Feb 03, 2002, 08:46 PM What settings are those?
celtic_druid Feb 03, 2002, 09:02 PM If you are trying to copy it on the fly, then try ripping it to an image file first.
For reading make sure that Fast Error Skip is enabled.
Some drives are quicker then others at reading through errors, but your lite-on with the latest firmware should read through it pretty quickly.
homeric Feb 04, 2002, 02:29 AM Look at this (***********.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=19055)...
Tell us if it works!
abstract Feb 04, 2002, 07:08 AM copy the hole cd to a temp folder burn as a data cd with ezcd hey
it woirked for me with a compaq and sony crx140e
Brandono Feb 04, 2002, 07:28 PM I copied the game fine like this
Download latest CloneCD and before installing change your regional settings to Canada if you live in the US. Make an image of the game with fast error skip checked and everything else default(It still might take a while to get past 5%). Burn it with all default options except check Amplify Weak Sectors. That should work, it worked for me for 3 of 3 SD2 games I tried including Ghost Recon. When burning and it sticks around 1-5% look for a earlier version of CloneCD because I had this problem too and I downloaded an earlier version and it worked but if it doesn't have Amplify Weak sectors look for a program called BetaBlocker. If none of this works look for a crack at www.megagames.com

Sinn Feb 10, 2002, 08:04 PM Ok I tried 2 things...
I used CloneCD 3.3.4.1 and wrote Ghost Recon to an image file first then burnt the image file to a CD. (With Fast Error skip enabled)
Then
I used CloneCD 3.3.4.1 and copied Ghost Recon on the fly with the original disk in the CD-ROM drive and a blank disc in the CD-RW drive. (With Fast Error ship enabled)
Both of the copies work fine, but when the installer reaches 98% it stops and you have to wait like 20 min until you get an error message.
Do I need a program or somthing that remove the Safe Disk 2 junk from the image file or whatever, if so what...?
If anyone can help me make a working copy of Ghost Recon please help...
Again I have a LITE-ON LTR-24102B (Burner) and a CD-ROM Drive/G6D (Reader)
Thank you...
celtic_druid Feb 10, 2002, 09:52 PM Use the Lite-on for reading and writting.. Also you can check the image by mounting it with daemon-tools and see if you can install from it ok..
