Im trying to install a game on my PC for my younger sister (Barbie as Princess Bride). (its a cdrom game). I have all the minimum requirements, yet I get the following error messages.

Error Starting Program: The BARBIE.EXE file is linked to missing export DDRAW.DLL:DirectDrawCreateEx.

and

C:\Program Files\Mattel Interactive\Barbie (R)\Barbie (R) as Princess Bride (TM)\Barbie.exe -- A device attached to the system is not functioning.

________-

When installing, the program asked if I wanted to install directx 7.0 because it needed that version to run correctly. I agreed and yet it seemed to install directx in like 1-2 seconds, waay too quick. Also my directx folder in the program files folder has ABSOLUTELY nothing in it..could that be the problem?

Sure it's for your sister ;)

I don't think Win95 supports directx 7 , time to upgrade to Win98

Really, it is :D

Seriously though: Why would it be compatible with Windows 95 if it also needs DirectX 7? See what I mean?

If you still looking for DirectX for windows 95b.

You can get it from http://www.rocketdownload.com/supfiles.htm

And windows 95 supports DirectX 5 and upwards

Thanks guys! I downloaded DirectX 7 from that website above, and the game runs fine now. Just what I suspected, the cd didnt install it correctly.
