View Full Version : Anyway to "Prioritize" file layout on the DVD

I just backed up NFL2K3, but it's got like 2000 files on the Root directory, the game works fine, but takes like 1 minute or more for it to boot while the Xbox searches through the contents and loads whatever it needs (deault.xbe - maybe?).

I burned it using Prassi, I have seen in Nero that you can right click and check properties of file/option, there is something called Priority? Does that mean it's closer to the center of the DVD?

Anyhow, I don't have any problems backing up, just checking to see if anyone knows how to use Prassi or Nero to make a more "efficient" loading DVD.

I am assuming a backuped copy from the HD to DVD-R, the files are just burned in alphabetical order?

Anyone know any details?

Thanks

u can use xiso to make an iso out of the files. Not sure if that will prioritize them for burning, but it may make the loading times better.

I suppose I can try that. Maybe I'll do it on a DVD-RW to test it. That would suck - it just adds another step, but if it helps load time - it would be worth it.

nope making an iso wont help
what u need to do is pad the disk out to make the files to the end of the dvd

but u will never get the same loading time as an orig xbox
as they use both layers of dvd and the disks r mastered from edge to center of dvd.
