I have just installed Madden and the game freezes at the replay screen.

I begin a game ,after the play the auto replay comes on (even thought I disabled it)

Then the replay plays,, I'm able to forward and reverse the replay.. BUT I can;t exit to return to the game.

Anyone know why??

Sounds very strange. I backed this game up without any of the problems you are describing. How does the original play on your system?

Crazy at it may sound ,,I found the problem to be the gamepad.

I replaced it and everything works now ...
