HI, i downloaded the goldberg mod evo x .iso. i burned it and it was working fine. i was following his steps.
1)Put the disc in the xbox
2)Xboxplorer will load and you will see the contents of your X-Box C: drive
3)Using the joypad go down to and highlight the file 'xboxdash.xbe'
4)Press the white button and from the options select 'Rename' by using the A button
5)Using the joypad rename the file 'msdash.xbe' then press 'start'
6)you will now be prometed to confirm change by holding both triggers and pressing start.
7)Once done press the 'Back' button on the pad to get back to the C: drive.

when i finished doing this, i got a screen that said my xbox requires service, and that i need 2 call technical.... the eject button flashes green and red, and now i cant use my xbox at all.....
please help me........ :(

yes m8, of course you are going to have an error - the x-box doesnt have a dashboard anymore - you have just renamed it - burn Xboplorer to a disc with the Evo-X software - use Xboplorer to copy the exo-x dashboard to the c:\ drive and rename it to xboxdash.xbe - then reboot - it will work then

Mystical_2K does that mean the instructions that came with the mod need to be changed?

well it would appear that steps 1-7 above (if followed in that order , was there any other steps?) would effectively do nothing other than hide your xboxdash.xbe file from the boot process.

and prolly causing grief to many a newbie :0

you have only followed part of the instructions. It seems you rebooted your xbox at that point , when really you should have copied the evox xboxdash.xbe over. I have seen goldbergs instructions and there is definitely more instructions than that.

Yeah,

You have to make sure you have a .xbe file named xboxdash.xbe or you'll get the Flashing Red light and the Xbox need Service issue.

There are few ways to fix this, Mystical_2K told you one way and another would be to burn the EvoX ISO to DVD/CD and then boot it up set your IP connect your Xbox to PC/Network and use FTP to add the EvoX dash to your C drive. There are zillions of tutorials (www.xbox-scene.com) detailing how to do this, just make sure before you reboot you have a xboxdash.xbe file on your C drive or your system will never boot.
