will play dvd-r no problem if they are burnt correctly and work on a 'normal' dvd player, and you used to need the remote and dongle but know there is a program called dvd-x2 or something, i have it you need it.

very tru toofan. i have a quick question on this topic, since it kind of suits it. i can get movies that are directly burned, meaning nothing needed to be ripped, to play fine. movies that i removed the menus and extras like blade 2 and resident evil, dont seem to work. i tried them on my regular dvd player and they work fine. any thoughts

That's wierd, if it's sitting in VIDEO_TS it should play, check it to see if the directory is in caps. Sometimes hey are picky.

My DVD copy of blade II, I ripped myself has all the original menus. Check the DVD forum for more info on how to rip movies with original menus. (Basically, loose the extra features, and downsample a bit. Can't tell the difference on quality)

All movie DVDs I made work on the Xbox and normal DVD players. That's wierd that it would work on a player and not the Xbox

blade II is a tight movie. Nice special effects.

The game is horrible though, I would not recommend it.
