just a query, The Media Player 6 program on the Xbox.
Does that play Divx and where do we stand as regards to codecs needed to play some divx, avi and other media files?

It does play DivX mate, quite well to be honest. It supports most codecs such a 3.11 alpha, 4.0, 5.0 and 5.1 (there are more)

Some sound codecs are not supported at present, can't remember off the top of my head but can certainly find out later tonight.

I have watched many DivX encoded files on my xbox and am very impressed with it, some films look better than they do on the PC, always got the luxury of using the remote and being able to turn the xbox off with it when in bed ;) (am very lazy)
