Anyone know of or where I might find info on trading out the Microsoft XBOX DVD drive for a PC type DVD drive. I understand that the PC is much more forgiving when it comes to reading backups?

Man! you don't want to trade your M$ dvd-rom. If you want to use a PC dvd-rom, you still need to use the xbox's dvd-rom conjunction to a PC dvd-rom...

Hi redwolf

I thought I read or saw somewhere ??? That you could trade out the XBOX DVD drive and replace it with a PC DVD type... Hell I know I saw just don't remember where? You needed to change out some wire hook ups and different solder points. After all is said and done... The XBOX looked the same outside but ran most anything and faster loading of the CDRW backups. If I find it I will post the link. Thanks for the reply
