Last night I installed an Xecuter mod chip into my XBox.

After an initial install I booted up the console and got a flashing red/green eject light, something not connected correctly.

I took the console apart again and ensured that all the connections under the modchip were correctly soldered by applying a bit more pressure than last time.

Again, I tested the console with import original of DOA3, success!!!! I then tested with a Intenso 80min CD_RW containing DVD Xv2....all fine.

After that I tried to burn evolutionxv1_8_458_iso and boXplorer096beta, neither of them work, both recorded using Cdrwin/nero/primo on maxell CD-RW 650MB discs.

I also received 2 DVDrs from a friend this morning, Blade II and an xbox compilation. Blade II works, the compilation doesn't.

The question, is my installation ok?

Forgot to say, I extracted the evolution and boXplorer isos' using WinRAR3 and I have a RIcoh MP7125A CDRW drive.

You need to burn the iso not extract then burn. It sounds like you friend messed up the second compilation DVD. As long as just one backup works the mod is fine.

Cheers guys, you have put my mind at rest. I thought that the xbox wasn't fussy about what media was used? What is the best CDRW media then?
