i know there are converter boxes to do this, i sold my ps2 and kept a pad back, i was wondering if it was possible to actually rewire the ps2 pad to usb for pc, if its not possible, are the any instructions on how to make a converter box myself, i dont really wanna buy one

dude, buy one. Much easier.

a usb adapter requires a controller chip. if you dont have a PIC programmer, you would find it much easier to just buy an adapter.

but you can make an adapter for the parallel port:
