I have a huge 3.5 GB avi file(4 seasons of the simpsons all combined together into one file) I want to know if there is a way to convert this big file into a vob file or something to that effect that will just let me pop in the dvd-r into a DVD player and have the file play. I was just going to put chapter links in beween each episode so I can skip to which ever one I want. But is there an app capable of coverting this file into a dvd style format?? much love....

TMPGEnc can do it. Use the DVD template for your format (NTSC or PAL) and calculate the output size with a bitrate calculator. Go to www.doom9.net for the programs and guides you need. You still have to author the program to burn onto DVD, as you cant just put a file on a DVD-R and have it play on a DVD player. You'll need an Authoring program like SpruceUp or DVDit! to do that. Read the guides to see what you are getting into. Check the guides at the top of this forum also.
