Buy a new one (there was a post about the same thing a week or so ago). When they have had liquid spilt on them they never work properly again. You must have heard PC Worlds advice incorrectly, that is the daftest advice I have ever seen given, if they did say that then they are pin heads!

Actually the advice does work if you unhooked your keyboard right after you spilt the pop on it. All running the water over it does is clean out the sticky mess that the pop leaves behind, but if your keys won't work the liquid has already shorted the Keyboard so its time to pitch it and buy a new one

as you've got a new keyboard open up the old one and be careful of the side with the keys as they may contain seperate little rubber plugs(if your lucky then they will be on a sheet) now unhook the little circuit board and detach the membrane which is a couple of sheets with the layout of the keys, wash the membrane under the tap and wipe with a cloth and then let it air dry for a day or two and then put your keyboard back together again and if you've done it right then all should work fine.
or do as pc world said and wash it under the tap and then let it dry for at least 3 days (place it so the keyboard is face down) but don't wash the ps2 plug.
it's pretty easy to do the above and there's nothing wrong with the advice from pc world as it's virtually impossible to get any kickback to harm your pc as the keyboard will either work or it won't.
hope it helps.
ps i've done this many times without any problems.

I think I've probably misunerstood what PC world told you......I read it as leave it to soak for 3 days....DOH! Must stop posting on here after a trip to the pub.
