help my sister has just brought a new pc , but cant install windows m.e tryed the boot disk gets to the scan disk screen then seems to stay on checking file structre for ages doing her head in

Is the harddisk formatted correctly? Has fdisk been done and a primary partition put on? Why has a new PC come with Windows ME?....thats the worst OS available.

Is it hanging on scan disk? need more info

Start over make a new partition and format the drive and see if you can install it then.

If it is hanging there chances are the hard disk is faulty.
