Hey!
Have you used the Xp cd?
You use that to format your computer!
I believe that you have to enter the repair utility that is on the cd!
Then type in format c:
if you want to convert it back to Fat32 then
type in format c: fs/fat32
i think that is right!

As mentioned the XP CD is bootable and will give you all the tools you need. However if your BIOS does not support booting the CD-Rom drive then use a Windows 98 Startup floppy and use FDISK as follows

1) type and press Enter at the A:>FDISK
2) press Enter to accept the "Y" for the first screen this will tell FDISK to use FAT32
3) at the FDISK menu choose the option to Delete partitions
4) Choose the option to Delete Non-DOS partition (that is the NTFS partition)
5) When finished ESC out and select the option to Create a Primary DOS Partition. Choose option for entire space unless you wish to create multiple partitions
6) When finished ESC out and you must reboot with the Win98 floppy still in the drive.
7) Type and press Enter at the A:>FORMAT C:
8) When drive is fomatted then pop the XP CD intot he CD-Rom and change to the location of your CD-Romn drive letter
9)Change to the location of the i386 directory and type WINNT.EXE to start the install from DOS

You are better off using the XP CD as it is much easier and faster than the above.

You don't need to make a startup disk!
You should have all the tools on the cd.
Yeah unless your bios doesn't support booting from a cd rom then you need the win 98 boot up disk.
