How many of you want to create cd+g discs from mp3+g files to play on a standalone karaoke player?

How many of you find it a hassle to first have to convert the mp3+g files to bin files which takes up hard drive space?

Once you have your bin files how many of you find it frustrating when your cdrecorder doesn't support the writing of these bin files?

Using daemon tools it has been possible to record a cd+g discs in conjunction with clonecd using disc at once raw + 96 compatable recorder (Almost 90% of recorders now support this).

It all seems a very long process to get a cd+g disc from your mp3+g files. This made me wonder why can't we have a program that converts the mp3+g files on the fly and utilises the disc at once + 96(p-w) writing mode. I know that the conversion process will be slow and the writer will be prone to buffer underruns, but has most recorders now have buffer under run protection this should not be a problem.

Ok there a few programs that are able to write in this mode.

1) Clonecd
2) CDmate
3) Alcohol 120%
4) Blindwrite.

After sending a few emails out, one of the above could see the advantage in adding this feature.
I am pleased to say that an evaluation version has been written and BLINDWRITE will support the writing of mp3+g cuesheets.
The good thing is that it also supports normal mp3 cue sheets, and here is the clever bit, if the cdg file is present in the same folder as the mp3 file it automatically writes the 96 byte sub channel data from the cdg file.

I have not tested this program yet but the programmers of BLINDWRITE assure me that it will burn mp3+g to cd+g on the fly.

The program is not yet available for download, it needs testing but don't worry I will keep this forum posted on the progress of this software.

Please post back some feedback on this subject so as the programmers may hear your opinion.

Hello

Everything arrives ... and I've finished a version to include your
query. It's attached.

As we have discussed before, the only presence of a CDG file of the
same base name and in the same folder as the current audio file is
enough to decide Blindwrite to use it. For instance ,
C:\Audio\TRACK01.MP3 and C:\Audio\TRACK01.CDG

It means that there is (in theory) NO need to modify the CUE file in
anyway. Just drop CDG files and BW do the rest.

But, you still can use the "CDG" statement instead of the "AUDIO"
statement in CUE file. for instance: "TRACK 01 AUDIO" or "TRACK 01
CDG" shall produce the same result.

Audio file(s) can be any of the following format (WAV, MP3, OGG, WMA,
APE)

Needless to say that the mode DAO PW best matches to burn the
resulting CD.

Please, make every test you like, give me your feedback but DO NOT
disclose this version. I authorize you to announce on your site that
the next release of Blindwrite will support MP3+CDG burning on the
fly.

Cya.

PS: If the mail is too big, please give me a FTP access to upload the
version into.

I emailed blindwrite as I couldn't burn a successful cdg from MP3 +G and their reply was,

developers team said that something need to be corrected .. I don't know if it is what you expect.
stay tuned for the next version of blindwrite.
