i can burn games all day long on cdrw's, but nothin on a dvd, i finally got recordnow max to recognize my hp 200i by upgrading to 4.0, but it still doesnt work, i know the media is good because i use the same when i ripped an original game, and even with that iso that i made i had to use daemon tools to mount the image so i could just make an "exact copy" with recordnow, but i was only able to do that cause i ripped it from a dvd game so it was still in dvd format with the iso, but the ones off the net are cd-rom iso so i cant use daemon tools to make an "exact copy" with recordnow, also i know the image is good cause i tried burning the same on both dvd and cdrw, only the cd worked, here are the programs and setting ive failed with.
--discjuggler(i normally use this with the cdrw's) mode 1/dvd, 2048, cdrom/dvd = failure
--nero- every setting possible = failure
--recordnow max - image file, cd mode 1, disc at once(closed) = failure
--recordnow max - data cd, udf -up to 128, mode 1, disc at once = failure
--ulead dvd factory - settings locked = failure

any help would be appreciated, thanx.

hi, when u say 'ripped' do u nean a disc to disc copy of an xbox backup on dvd+r to dvd+r?...or have u ripped from an original game via ur xbox/evox/ftp, then made an iso with xiso, or xboxisotool, then burnt it?...cos i don't understand how u got a 'dvd image' unless u did one of the above...also, how fast are u burning?...1x is the only reliable speed for xbox with my dvd-r writer...dunno about urs tho??...and wot os are u running with?...i recently got xp and it wouldn't work with my burners untill i ran force aspi..

You dont need to mount an .iso in daemon tools at all, the whole point of the .iso is that it is an instantly burnable format, the .iso will tell the software how the disk should be set out e.t.c and then burn it correctly.

Why are you mounting it in daemon tools? i can see no benefit at all from doing this, only problems

Just do file burn image, were it says global image, drop it down to .iso and load up what .iso you want to burn, the setting should be fine at default, mode 1 e.t.c click burn and thats it.

I have similar probs with primo, nero and recordnow max. Even small *** dvds (1 gig) would give me a message that the game is too big. So I uninstalled primo and installed it again with NO px engine updates this time and now it burns everything. Or mount the iso with daemon and do an on the fly copy with nero. recordnow max sucks major azz.

when i said ripped, i meant backup of an original. im sure i didnt really have to use daemon tools because the iso was considered a "dvd" by programs because i ripped from a real dvd game, i have no problem at all burning that with any software im sure. the problem is with the .isos i get off the net, i can only get them on a cdrw, if there small enough to put on a cdrw i use disc juggler with no problems, but with a dvd it doesnt work for me with any problem on any settings, and i cant use daemon tools to mount and copy because the isos off the net are considered a cdrom by daemon. any help?

For .iso's off the net i just burn it in Prassi primo DVD (same as record now max), i dont believe it checks if it is a DVD or CD like NERO does. Nobody else i know has had any problems with this, could you explain in more detail what happens, what error messages you get e.t.c when you try it.

I dunno why you are having so much problems. Try an original, ftp it over to your HD, then follow EXACTLY what Cal_G's tutorial says. It works!

Do 1X burn and use good media. I never have to do an ISO, just burn the files.

jaymus, same as that m8, followed cal_g's tut (cheers fella), no problems...i only built isos when using cdrecord with my old ricoh burner!...sadly i haven't got it (cdrecord) working with my liteon or the pioneer, else i'm sure i'de still be encountering the odd nightmare...i luv cdrecord too :-)
