It is not possible to take the contents of a DVD-Video or DVD-ROM and record the whole thing onto a CD-R, unless the DVD is nearly empty. The capacity of DVD discs is considerably greater. Generally speaking, you can't play DVD content from a CD-R disc anyway, because the DVD drive needs to read encryption keys from outside the file system area, but some program can e.g.
The freeware {Eazy VCD v1.09} all you have to do is;
1. Put the DVD you wish to copy in your DVD-ROM drive.
2. Select the output folder, name, and what type of CD-R you are using, then click "RIP IT".
3. Burn the Bin/Cue image or Mpeg file to CD-R.

The Shareware {Unleash the Power of Your CD-ROM Writer} allow you to convert a DVD to VCD2.0/SVCD1.0 which does it all for you from ripping to cutting and mixing and CD image creation. AVI2VCD is an MPEG encoder with only one purpose: Encoding VideoCD 2.0 compliant MPEG streams. DVD ripping that allows you to rip movies easily and adds many extra features to the normal ripping process: it allows you to select angles for multi-angle movies, uses IFO parsing which allows you to select program chains to be ripped, only certain chapters of the movie, etc. :beer:
