i have put chip in xbox, and i know it's in good, but for some reason it will not load any of my dvd rips, that are on cdr. it will start to load but say that disk is damaged or dirty. so is it true that it only works best with dvdr?
I'm using maxwell cdrw and sky cdrw, burning at 4x. is there any utility that allows u to test to see if chip is working properly?

Best advice is to dump the CDRW and stick with DVD-R. Nuff said.

if you have the money, a DVD+R if not then a DVD-R.
