I have a problem with my second pc that the serial ports don't work.
It's an AT format socket 7 board.
I have tried everything i can think of but still no luck.
Could this be caused by a power supply fault?
Windows says it finds the ports but nothing i plug in works.

Anyone?

maybe you need drivers for what youre plugging in?

Check your BIOS to make sure that LPT1 is enabled

It's a serial mouse. Windows ME would surely just find it and set it up?
It always has before anyway.
I have a funny feeling it's the power supply, anyone know what certain wires on an AT power supply do?

When right clicking on the item with the yellow! And choosing properties what the reason shown for the yellow! Mark?
is anther device using the same i/o ?
or more than two?
Try setting a different i/o for mouse or move other device to different one.

Or try this go into the cmos uninstall the cd rom, shut it down, then remove the cd rom cables and power cable, then bootup then go to device manager remove the drivers if still there for both mouse and cd rom. restart again see if the mouse drivers are ok?
