at present ime running a amd athalon 1'3 / 256megsd ram.40gig hd/
n,vidia ge force 2mx//sound blaster 4'1 sound card,liteon48x12x48-16xdvd
The mainboard is the PC Chips 810LMR. ide like to know (in your humble opinions) what would be the best replacement for it as the on board sound and vid wont stay turned off and keeps crashing pc , so ime looking for a decent mobo with nothing on board ty

Personnally if i was to get a a new motherboard i would want one with future compatibility at the moment there is a couple of new standards coming out such as Serial IDE, AGP X8, 166Mhz FSB support and of course USB 2.0 so i would want to get a board with or this onboard and the only one that i know of at the moment is Personnally if i was to get a a new motherboard i would want one with future compatibility at the moment there is a couple of new standards coming out such as Serial IDE, AGP X8, 166Mhz FSB support and of course USB 2.0 so i would want to get a board with or this onboard and the only one that i know of at the moment is Abit AT7-MAX2 it is a bit expensive at the moment at £148 but it would save upgrading in a while.

one other porblem is my freind who does my pc says that the amd athalon is a very bad chip and is advising me to go p4 and scrap the amd ,,,what do ya think,,,,,,i feel that its just his opinion so would like to hear others ty,
