I just got dsl 2 weeks ago..and i was talking to some one in yahoo messager. i think we were talking for 30 mins or soo..i dont remember...and he then said is this your phone number:eek: :eek: ..how the hell did he find my real phone number??????? this id was brain new, no one knows this yahoo id.i just made it...how could he have gottan my Phone number:confused: :confused:

A few places offer online look-up of phone numbers. If your number is listed in a phone book somewhere then it's bound to also be online. Or you probable posted your phone number somewhere while signing up for something or filling out a online form.

i know i just reinstalled my windows 2 days ago..and i never fill in my real phone number any where...and this person doesnt know me..cause like i said i just made that id.and i never told any one about that id yet... i remember when he was about to go, he told me my number...i heard that there r programs that could do that, but it takes alot of time. i think hey may have used that on me:( :( any way on how i can protect this from happing again:idea:

As QWERTY said, he/she likely got it off one of the phone # listing services. Word to the wise - ALWAYS pay that $2/mth (where i live that's the cost anyway) to get yourself unlisted.

maybe that could been the case if he might have found my number off the listing..but i dont beleave that..because I gave all my fauls info to him..even my name i told him my wroge name...i hope i dont get in troble:idea: :idea: :idea: could it be that he might have got it off my isp service??????but no isp service gives u the info about the other user..so i dont know..am just confused::confused: :confused: ...should i call my isp and find out if they give it to him????
