i am trying to format my 2nd hdd in xp. I am going into my computer right clicking drive d: format it comes up with warning cannot format drive if u have any utils running or displaying any contents of drive.


I am not doing any of the above and still cannot format it any help

It always happens to me. What you could do is boot to DOS, and format it from there. Be sure to format the correct HardDrive.
