hi people got a ps2 v7 with a magic chip installed yesterday which works fine ........now the problem im having is playing psx games it just comes up with no data ????....i know the chip works fine because i have backed up 4 ps2 games and they all work fine ......has anyone got any idea's maybe im doing something wrong (psx game burnt using nero method on tdk cdr at 1x) burnt ps2 games on unbranded cdr and white label dvd-r and all great just the ps1 games dont work:confused:

Are the PSX games the same region as your PS2???? i.e. If your PS2 is PAL, are the PSX games PAL or are they Jap or American??

PS2 V7 with Magic2 chip WILL NOT play import PSX games... only the ones from the same region your PS2 is..

Other than that the SCEX wire might have come off the install.... Do original PSX games work??

thanks for the reply spagball.... yes they are the same but i got it sorted now turns out something to do with the way i turn the ps2 on ihave to ....

pres eject put the game in

press reset so the ps2 turns it self off

press reset until the blue light comes on .....

works fine ...


so you saying that i cant play imports on my ps2???? well ive always got my xbox i can play anything on that at the moment(i think)

If you've the Magic2 on your V7 machine it won't play import PSX games... only PAL ones.. Plays ALL PS2 games though...

I think they are releasing a modified Magic2 to sort this out though....

The boot method is correct by the way...

magic2 chip should work like messiah press reset twice quikly and the psx games should boot first time.
