Hi

I'm looking for a new isp and have narrowed it down to Clara and Virgin after looking at the isp review site. If any of you guys have experience of either i would appreciate your comments.

Thanx in advance
Deano

Claranet have never messed me around in the past, and if I've had a problem they've at least heard me out and responded quickly. As for Virgin, sorry I have no experience with them.

good luck

I've been with Clara for ages now and they have always been brilliant and sorted out any problems I have had,not that there have been many.I am on the Anytime tarriff which seems just the job for me.

Clara.net are sh*te in my opinion. If you think BT are crap with their maximum 150 hours per month deal then wait till you try and use clara a lot.

The connecton ratio is 10:1 (like most ISPs) but if you use it quite a bit 5+ hours per day they complain you're using it too much. I asked how was acceptable and was told that as its 10:1 you get one 10th of a day each. Thats 2.4 hours, next month they cancelled my account as I was still using about 3-4 hours per day. Also had problems getting connected at peak times.

Never tried virgin but they can't be any worse. You could try them out or I'd go with BT, never have connection problems and 5 hours per day isn't too bad.
