View Full Version : Nero won't run - Any ideas?

I am running XP Home and just finished building a new system. I had Nero running fine under XP on my old system. I have tried every version from 5.1 up. Upon launching Nero, it either does nothing, ie., double click and nothing happens, or it launches and hangs while detecting SCSI, IDE, etc.

The new system uses a RAID 0 configuration and I have a feeling Nero does not like this. CloneCD runs fine, XP internal burning works fine, and EZCD 5.0 patched for XP work fine (but I hate it!). Very strange.

System info:
Pentium 4 2.0A
ABIT TH7II-RAID (i850)
512MB RDRAM
TDK(Plextor) 12/10/32

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

LJ

Question: Have you been behaving like a good boy and are you using a registered version of nero? :round:
If not, there might be a file telling Nero not to run because of you are exceeding the maximum numer of days you can use Nero for free. If you install a newer version over that install, it might cause trouble.

Also, have you tried removing all traces of Nero from your system? Also registery entries and files that keep existing after uniunstall?
Try to clean every posible trace of Nero and install verion 5.5 (whivh is XP compatible) or the lastest version available.
