my samsung cdrw just doesn't like cdrw disks, i have lots of coasters as a result (yes, it happens with cdrw disks as well as cdr)
when i try to copy something, it copies fine until 5 secs from end, then i get the error saying it couldn't finish copying. i load the disk back in the drive and after an age trying to read it (sometimes it can't), it says file system unknown, so it won't even let me erase it!

i'm using windows xp, but it previously happened with 98 and me.

is my samsung cdrw really fussy over which disks i use (although i've tried many different ones), is it something i`m doing wrong, or is it just a rubbish drive?

please help

If you're having consistent problems regardless of the media or burning software you are using it sounds like a problem with the drive. Try burning a smaller amount of info to a disc, if that works then I suspect that your drive is having problems writing on the outside edge of the disc.
If that's the case then it's probably time for a new burner, or don't burn full CDs.
