I am currently using a Voodoo 5500 AGP with 64mb, My pc is a PIII 1gig with a Abit Raid M/B and 512 mb SDRAM. I feel that my graphics could be better, I have a lot of pictures from my Digital camera stored on my pc. When I go to view these in a thumb nail view I want to see instant pictures not wait around 2sec for them to display, I also see a decrease in speed when I zoom in or move pictures up and down while zoomed in.
Dont get me wrong the my system is running very fast indeed.

Is it worth Overclocking the Voodoo as some people have done, or shall, I shell out on a 128mb 4600ti

I am using XP Pro as my Op system

Cheers

I don't think a video card has much to do with the speed at which you handle your digital photos. It has more to do with your CPU.

I agree its your cpu I have a amd 1400 athlon and have got The Radeon 9700 pro on my board and it runs like a dream( i used to have the voodo 5500 pci ) I use windows xp pro and find it runs like a dream.

the card will have a small effect on graphics files but 99% of the time it takes is due to processing the file (through the cpu)

dont buy a new graphics card unless you are going to play games or do 3d cad or something

ram makes a big difference aswell but 512mb should be enough
