Hi i need to build a few computers and i am stuck on which motherboard to buy. I need it to be available at www.ebuyer.com

It must be able to take any amd chip from a duron up to an athalon xp 2200+ , have an agp slot and take ddr ram. I would go for the k7s5a which i have but ive had a few niggling probs with it so i wouldn't wanna pass one on to novices who are buying the pc's. The board must be very reliable / stable and preferably without many jumpers. Im looking to spend under £70 preferably to keep the costs of the systems down to a minimum. The ideal one would be about £50. So if you have seen a good board on ebuyer or own one lmk

thanks very much

Matt

I have an asus a266a this board supports Sdram (3 slots)and DDR(2 slots) also with the latest bios update can accomodate the xp chip 2200 I have had this board ...cost me £30 although it ws a bargain basment job as needed the manual etc however has onboard sound and is IMHO the doggs B**ks

check it out at www.asus.tw also it lends itself to overclocking .

Hope this helps

other than that the new EPOX board s K133A i think are superb boards but more expensive at £85 or thereabouts:)

Yup, K7S5A is the board you hate and love and you're right, this low cost board is not for novices. I hated it when I 1st bought it because of problem after problem but after fixing all problems and have experiences with it, I like it very much. I'm running a XP 1600+ overclocked to 1900 on it now. :)

I also own an Abit KG7-RAID. Check it out. I think ebuyer has it. This baby costs me the same money as the K7S5A but has full of features including the ones you listed above. With current BIOS release (06/10/2002), it supports up to XP 2100+. I'm waiting for the new BIOS release that will let me go higher. Check this KG7-RAID Page (http://www.abit-usa.com/pt_main_backb0bc.html?pPRODUCT_TYPE=MotherBoard&pMODEL_NAME=KG7-RAID).
