I am after a printer for under £200 that will print good quality photos -

Any ideas?

Ive got a HP990cxi, very good quality on photo paper.

I also have used an HP990cxi for the last 18 months or so and would not change for anything.

They were about £225 when I bought one but you can get them for around £160 now which is crazy for the quality it produces! You also have 17 ppm in draft mode too! :D

epson makes a great printer, they are awesome for photos, they have them in all price ranges

another reason to go for epson is that the compatable ink is well cheap :)

I have an Epson 890. Brilliant photos, but only when used with original ink. If you are seriouly into printing photos that will last, then olny originals will do. Been there done that ;)

Only disadvantage is that it starts to build up the costs!!!

i'm not doubting what you say m8 but i'm interested in what difference you noticed between orignal & compatible ink??

i only print up to 720dpi so i don't notice any difference at that.

I print at about 1400ish (i cant quite remember exactly), the quality of photo was near perfect (give or take a few, tints of blue), with the cheap ones. but afta a couple of months the colours did not look as sharp as they did when printed. But the originals were still looking just as good.

I would love to know the brand any one else buys, as it cld jst b that i chose the wrong type.

HP990cxi works great.
