Just got my hands on a liteon 48125w and a pack of infiniti 99min cdr,
but the cd writer does not recognise the cdr as 99 min only 74 min.
I set the preferences to enable overburn and recorder info says the writer
does support overburn. Plus upgraded to the latest firmware VS08.

I'm using the nero burn that came with the writer, upgraded to 5.599.

Any suggestions as i don't know what I'm doing wrong.

cheers:hdspin:

You never actually said whether you tried to overburn or not...

Enabling overburn will not change the way the disc is recognised, it will however allow you to overburn upto 99mins.

I have tried to overburn cdrs upto 99min, but each time I get the message

"There is not enough space to burn this compilation onto this medium

please insert another medium that provides more space"

Then the cdr ejects the disc
I upgaded to the latest nero burn but still the same problem

In order to overburn in Nero you must burn in DAO and have overburn enabled and set to at least the amount you are trying to overburn. It "should" then let you try and overburn whatever you want... Works fine for me using a 40125W.

Thanks for the help, had another go and managed to burn 97 mins of audio
onto a cdr. I still am unable to overburn data, i.e. *.avi, *.mp3 or such files onto an cdr. I presume u can only overburn music files for a cCD player.

Cheers

Finally got it sussed I change the setting from multi-session to no multi-session. This enabled me to select Disk at once in the burn menu. With the multi-session enabled the only option is track at once.

Thanks for all you help
