View Full Version : Nero 5.5.9.9 Problem Iso Compilations

Whenever I have started to compile a data disc in the past I have just dragged and dropped the files from the file browser to the compilation window. (This has also allowed me to open the cover designer and make a label of the new compilation. Also, this is handy to make labels for discs I made a while ago but forgot to make a label!)

This has always worked but recently I have found that when I drag and drop files into the new compilation they are being written onto my hard drive with a "progress" time bar being shown and this takes ages. Also I don't want them on my hd.

I have searched through the settings and I cannot find out why this is happening.

HELP!

  :furious: :(

Upgrade your Nero and try again.

Hi Number 9 when you choose to burn, in the next window, the "create Image" box isn't checked is it?

I've tried 3 different versions (all 5.5.x.x) and same thing happens even after a clean uninstall. My mate told me to check that the cd writer properties on device manager did not have 'removable disk' box ticked but this isn't an issue because it is greyed out.

When I reinstalled nero and loaded it the first thing I got was the 'choose recorder' box which only shows the image recorder selection.

My writer is reading disks ok - I've played audio and loaded software from it. My problems started when nero (or was it nero express?) crashed on me. I've reloaded windows 98, defragged, scandisc, norton systemworks checked it, system file checked....you name it! No other copying software is present.

system:

PIII 450 mhz
128mb ram
pioneer 113 cd/dvd
Liteon 40x12x48 (latest flash ZS0N loaded - worked fine for 2 weeks from buying writer)
6gb HD
w98

In device manager the cdrom drives both have disconnect, auto insert and dma ticked - but these have not been altered by me at any time.

If there's any other info which you deem relevant please ask. This one's got me baffled.....Perhaps I should unplug the writer and load from scratch and see if plug and play detects my writer correctly?

seems like system recognises the writet as a cdrom, but I've now tried easy cd 5 platinum and that too says that there is no writer connected....

what next?

in device manager I alway have auto insert notification unchecked..dunno if this could be your problem:) can't see this making your burner not show up in the list of installed recorders tho:(. Have u tried uninstalling nero then installing it again?

yes ausbob. tried easy cd - same results. will reinstall my old writer to see if this will work - then I can probably say I have a problem with the liteon because I will have eliminated most probable software / hardware problems (?).
