wasp23 Oct 11, 2002, 04:16 AM which dvd players have least trouble playing dvdr ?
hi please post your findings on which players play dvdr pointing out there pros and cons. if they play multi movies or whatever. lets also state where you bought it and if it comes multiregion or it was chipped or hacked.
lets make this a sticky for future reference on buying standalone dvd players
thanks

d1ggler Oct 11, 2002, 06:44 PM ive got a pioneer 717 and its plays everthing with no probs
vchlkctgk Oct 12, 2002, 03:05 AM I have an Alba 108 from Argos £70 and I think it's great. So far it has played everything I've put in it. The only problem is that it doesn't automatically recognise VCD so I have to use the GOTO trick.

sparkymarky Oct 12, 2002, 07:28 AM I have a Pioneer 626 and a dansai 1010 and both play dvdr without any problems. With my dansai you can put in an ntsc sourced film and tape straight to a pal video
djpipw Oct 12, 2002, 08:47 AM i have a cyberhome adm512, a dansai 952 and a pioneer 515 all play dvdr no problems and all region free, the dansai isnt macro off. The cyberhome and the dansai both output to pal 50 and pioneer to pal 60
DEANO72 Oct 12, 2002, 08:50 AM dansai 852,952 plays dvdr perfectly well (recorded as iso or udf), multi region. 852 is macrovision disable-able out of the box too.
cyberhome 528 plays dvdr recorded as udf only and multi region out of the box too.
toshiba sd220e plays udf dvdrs only.
dansai and cyberhome both do ntsc to pal 50 (after changing settings in setup) and work perfectly on really old tv's too.

blobbyrob Oct 13, 2002, 05:36 AM Ive got the Alba 108 from Argos as vchlkctgk has stated above. No problems with Multi's burnt @ x1 or x2 speed. Tried to get another for the sister yesterday but out of stock but offered me a replacement Alba 114 which I took. This also plays without problems but not sure if it plays S/Vcd's as I dont have any to try.
