XP box is having problems burning audio cds with CRX100E/X2
The Xp box can see the Spressa CRX100E/X2 as a valid drive and the Sony CD Extreme software can see the device correctly. I upgraded the CD Extreme software to build 2.0.779 (the win2000/xp update) as posted by Sony at their support site.
A 70 min audio test and burn gets about a third of the way through the test section and it bombs out with 'Audio Disc terminates with errors -9 at sector 33853'.
I plugged the drive into my Win2000 box and it performs the test against the same blank CDR without problems. Both the 2000 and XP box have 256mb RAM.
I stepped down the speed from x4 to x2 and then x1 but the same results, though as the speed is stepped down it gets a little further each time.
I tried Nero and upped the buffer size but it still bombs out.
The only other devices plugged into USB ports are the keyboard and mouse. The drive is plugged directly into its own USB port.
Any ideas what i can try next?
