Hi,

I'd been ripping dvd's at average 7x (approx 15 mins) before i had to format hd & reinstall WinMe OS.

Now its taking me 30-45 mins  (tried 3,4 different dvds), i've tried everything, nothing seems to work. I've got DMA enabled, pioneer 107 ripper is primary master (tried swapping IDE's, no use), using smartripper 2.41, latest ASPI drivers.

No idea why its not ripping as before. Before i used to get almost constant speeds (i.e. between 5-7x), now it goes down to 1x then jumps up to 6x & so on.

Lasers don't stop working after a month (i bought it a month ago), do they?

Any suggestions ?

Thx

Thx alex, I've tried all of that (apart from xp installation), still no difference.

What i don't understand is why was it working before & not now. Clean OS installation should've made things faster not slower. I've also checked all IDE cables twice, they are tightly secured to m'board & drives.

YIPPE

:D

Sorted now.

Looks like the d*** computer didn't like me throwing up 4 devices at once to configure (2 hd's, 2 dvd drives)

Had to connect them one by one, primary hd first, ripper next, writer after that & finally secondary hd.

Back to happy ripping for me now.
