Back up vcds burnt on my pc will play in the pc but not on my dvd player,My dvd will play vcd/svcd and plays the originals.I'm using windows XP.

I think it's to do with the dye on the disc,might be corrected here but you might be best to try a disc with a blue write surface.

If your DVD player is older then a year or two, you may have the same issue as my Sony DVD player.

The Sony DVD player will read CD-RW's just fine but won't read CD-R's. Try burning your data to a CD-RW and see if that works.
