i have a problem with my acer cdrw. ever since i installed XP it hasnt recognized the burner. it just comes up as another cd rom drive. CD burning programs such as nero, ECDC 5, CD-R Win and clone cd all recognize it as a burner and it works fine with them but windows doesnt see it as a burner. the model is an acer 8.4.32 burner with the firmware 5.AX. could it also be the firmware that needs upgrading or some of the drivers. At the beginning of installing XP there was a conflict with some of the drivers, the drivers provided by adaptec were not compatible with XP so i had to download new ones but that did not fix the compatibility problem. Could someone please tell me how to try and fix this problem and also how to install the new firmware (i have downloaded the file) if need be.
