i have a win xp cd but it will not boot up at start up. i think the cd is missing some files in order for it to start up. these are the folders/files on the cd. please tel me if i am missing any. thanks

Here are two links that should help you out with making a bootable XP CD...

Number 2 (http://www.etplanet.com/downloads/guide/easycdcreator.html)
They both talk primarily about using Easy CD Creator, but can be adapted for Nero pretty easily.
Oh, here is one that talks about using Nero specifically.

thanks zack! that is exactly what i needed to do. i was so confused by the cd not booting up. i couldnt figure out what files were missing. this solution was probably in a sticky on this site somewhere and i overlooked it. lol. thanks again zack

you can also go to microsofts web page and download a piece of software to let you make a set of floppys to boot with

bootdisk.com has links to create various boot disks for all op sys including XP just in case you can't boot off CD.

It is OK to use floppy bootdisk image to create a bootable XP CD.
But IMO it's better to use the XP CD boot image from the links zack371 has above to make a "true" bootable XP CD.
