i have a plextor re-writer 12/10/32 and when i try and copy a music cd it gets to 4% percent and it crashes, is my re-writer ****ed or is it the settings

check that u have buffer underrun protection checked.

I have been in contact with TEAC, the manufacturer for my CD-RW, and they recommended the following to prevent some of the error messages “End Task on all open applications and only leave Explorer and Systray open before recording. Disable the DMA settings for all IDE CD-ROM / CD-RW / disk drives in your system under Device Manager.”
